How to Publish Configuration Manager Site Information to Active Directory Domain Services
Before Configuration Manager can publish site data to Active Directory Domain Services, the Active Directory schema must be extended to create the necessary classes and attributes, the System Management container must be created, and the primary site server’s computer account must be granted full control of the System Management container and all of its child objects. Each site publishes its own site-specific information to the System Management container within its domain partition in the Active Directory schema.
|During Configuration Manager primary site setup, the Active Directory schema is queried to determine if it has been extended for Configuration Manager. If the schema has been extended for Configuration Manager, the site will be automatically configured to publish site information and will publish site information to Active Directory Domain Services at the completion of setup. If the Active Directory schema has not been extended for Configuration Manager, the site will not be configured to publish site data to Active Directory Domain Services.|
To enable a Configuration Manager site to publish site information to Active Directory Domain Services
In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System Center Configuration Manager / Site Database / Site Management / <site code> – <site name>.
Right-click <site code> – <site name>, and click Properties.
On the Advanced tab of site properties, select the Publish this site in Active Directory Domain Services check box.
