Installation is not complete until you test it. You can test your Apache installation in a variety of ways. I test the installation in two ways. First, I check the installation by using the lynx text browser. Second, I test the installation by connecting from a remote client computer.
Connecting Using lynx
To test the installation by using lynx, type the following command:
#lynx hostname/IP_address
This is the output that I received when I tested the installation using lynx:

You may now add content to this directory and replace this page. Seeing this instead of the website you expected? Connecting from a Remote Client
It is ideal to check the installation from a remote client on the same network to be doubly sure of the installation. Type the following URL on the Address bar of the browser window:
http://ip_adress_of_remote_host
| Note | In addition to checking the installation on Linux, in this case I used a Windows client to test the installation of Apache. |
