How to Install and Configure Zenoss under Linux – A Step By Step Guide

Zenoss is an Open Source Software to Monitor theÂ Network, servers, applications etc. Its very easy to install and configure under Linux or windows system. Â The Zenoss works on SNMP , The SNMP service should be enabled on all the monitoring devices .

Here i am going to explain step by step guide to install Zenoss Â under Linux box. First you have to download the installation file from this location

http://zenoss.com/download

Once you have downloaded just give 777 permission to this file . Then start the Installation as shown below.

You will get a installation window shown as below

Click on Forward button to continue the installation.

Select the Location to Install Zenoss

Define the port number if you want to give a different port number otherwise leave the fields as it is.

Give the Mysql Port Number.

Set a password for MySQL

Just ignore it and continue.

Now you are ready to install the zenoss. Just Click on Forward to continue.

This will Install the Zenoss Â Once you have done the Installation you can login to zenoss by typing the following url in the browser

http://127.0.0.1:8080
