Terminate an Instance

Note: Terminating an instance deletes all data on the local (ephemeral) instance storage.

You can terminate an instance only iftermination protection is disabled for the instance.

To terminate an instance

1. Right-click the instance and clickTerminate.
   A confirmation dialog box appears.
2. Click Yes, Terminate.
   Amazon EC2 begins terminating the instance.
