Acer has announced the new Veriton N260G-U2802CP, an ultra-compact nettop for the U.S. professional market. Due to its small size and flexible design, this practical nettop is well-suited for small offices, reception areas, classrooms, libraries, showrooms, call centers, hotel front desks or airline check-in kiosks.

It is designed with a retractable stand that allows it to stand on a desktop and it can be fitted onto the rear of an LCD monitor as well. Inside the tiny chassis are an Intel Atom N280 CPU and the Intel GN40 Express chipset.

The Veriton N260G-U282CP comes with an Intel Atom N280 processor, 2GB of RAM and is upgradable to 4GB, a 160-GB hard drive, Intel GMA 4500M graphics. The machine runs Windows XP Pro and has a recovery CD with Vista Business as well. Additional features include a multi-in-one card reader, digital media card reader, six USB 2.0 ports, HDMI, PCI Express Mini 1.1 x1 slot, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, a PS2 keyboard, USB mouse.

The Veriton N260G is Energy Star qualified, while the nettop also features Acer PowerSaver technology, which gives users the option to conserve energy and power on demand. This system has also been equipped with the Veriton ControlCenter, which is basically a user-friendly utility suite designed to help users improve their computing experience.
