ActiveX is a framework for defining reusable software components in a programming language independent way. Software applications can then be composed from one or more of these components in order to provide their functionality.

1)  Click the Windows “Start” button, then click “Internet Explorer 8″ to launch the web browser. Click the “Tools” menu located on the top, then click “Internet Options” to launch that the Internet Options console.
2) Click the “Security” tab, then click “Internet” in the zone box. Click the “Custom Level” button to launch the Security Settings window.

3) Scroll down the Security Settings window to the “ActiveX Controls and plug-ins” section. Select “Enable” under each of the options in the “ActiveX Controls and plug-ins” section. Click “OK” to save the changes, then close the Internet Options console.
