To configure DNS dynamic update for a Windows Server 2003-based DHCP server, follow these steps:
- ClickÂ Start, point toÂ Administrative Tools, and then clickÂ DHCP.
- Right-click the appropriate DHCP server or scope, and then clickÂ Properties.
- ClickÂ DNS.
- Click to select theÂ Enable DNS dynamic updates according to the settings below check box to enable DNS dynamic update for clients that support dynamic update.
Note By default, this check box is selected.
- To enable DNS dynamic update for DHCP clients that do not support it, click to select theÂ Dynamically update DNS A and PTR records for DHCP clients that do not request for updates (for example, clients that are running Windows NT 4.0) check box.
- ClickÂ OK.
