Ordinarily, when you type “history” into the command line, it will display the command number and the command. It may be useful to show the timestamp along with these commands using the following command
# export HISTTIMEFORMAT=’ %F %T ‘

The terminal should display something similar to the following:

# history | more
5 cd log
6 cd ..
7 ls
8 cd logs
9 ls
10 vi debugLog.log
11 vi debugLog.log
12 vi debugLog.log
13 vi debugLog.log
14 vi debugLog.log
15 vi debugLog.log
16 svn info
17 cd /home/product/currently/data

19 svn update
20 ps -ax |grep 1024
21 kill -9 30843
22 ps -ax |grep 1024
