Your computer’s processor, also known as the central processing unit (CPU), is like the brain of the computer. Fast processors typically perform better than slower processors, and are especially useful for running multimedia programs, such as games or audio and video editing programs.

  1. Open System by clicking the Start button , right-clicking Computer, and then clicking Properties.
  2. Under System, you can see the processor type and speed, as well as the number of processors installed, if your computer uses multiple processors.
