Safari is the fastest browser running on Windows, rendering web pages up to twice as fast as IE and up to 1.6 times faster than Firefox, based on the industry standard iBench tests. Safari supports all modern Internet standards including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SVG and Java. Safari updates are delivered seamlessly through Apple’s Software Update, and the first update for Safari for Windows Public Beta which fixes some early reported bugs was released last night.

Safari for Windows requires Windows XP or Windows Vista, a minimum of 256 MB of memory and a system with at least a 500 MHz Intel Pentium processor.

Performance will vary based on system configuration, network connection and other factors. Testing conducted on an iMac 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo system running Windows XP, with 1GB of RAM.

Safari 5  has innovative new features that improve the way you view the web. And powerful new tools to help developers enhance and customize the browsing experience altogether.

Key Features in Safari 5:

  • Even Greater HTML5 Support
  • Better Performance
  • Bing Search
  • Safari Extensions
  • Smarter Address Field
  • Tabs Setting
