Sun Microsystems has announced plans to cut approximately 3,000 jobs over the next 12 months to better align resources with its strategic business objectives due to delay in the closing of its $7.4bn acquisition by Oracle. Skip related content
The jobs cuts will take place across the North America, EMEA, APAC and Emerging Markets regions. The company expects to incur total charges ranging from $75m to $125m over the next several quarters. Cash severance cost is expected to be incurred in the second and third quarters of the fiscal year ending June 30, 2010.
